I turned a corner in my own life when I found methods of self-compassion that were built on radical acceptance instead of external factors such as relationships, accomplishments, and parts of my perceived identity that I didn't truly have control over. I always deserved of love, kindness, and joy, even before I felt "worthy" of it. I often have to deconstruct what mental health looks like for me personally. For example, I accepted that crying is an effective coping skill for me. I am a really good at crying when I need it! I also found a love of boundaries. I continue to learn and explore how boundaries are effective mental health tools. My dogs and laughing with my husband are also a fun part of my mental health routine.

I love opportunities that expose me to new things, whether that is through traveling, trying a new ethnic food, exploring a new hair style, or going out of my comfort zone to learn a new hobby. I am a big dog-lover who enjoys taking my dogs hiking and camping. Live performances have always been a treat since I spent most of my school years dancing, singing and acting. My husband and I enjoy hiking, Olympic lifting, and hosting game nights with friends. Something unique about me is that I spent a year studying abroad in Germany in 2013. I am always happy to dust off my German whenever able.

My Philosophy

"My philosophy as a therapist is that each person, no matter their age or circumstance, is always worthy of the mental/emotional support required for healing and growth. Each person is deserving beyond measure of peace, joy, safety, and warmth. With the right support and resources, we can all tap into our own deep well of resilience and strength. I honor the unique personality, experiences, and perspective that my clients bring into the therapeutic relationship. I believe our emotions and experiences are meant to be processed in a safe space, and that laughter has a place in our healing journey as well!

A Persian poet by the name of Rumi once said “out beyond the ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there”. For me, the field represents therapy, a space where we can go to present ourselves as we truly are in order to learn who we can become."
